'What a gift this is for Lakeland': Bonnet Springs Park opens
Lakeland’s former railyard will complete its transformation this Saturday as Bonnet Springs Park opens to the public.
The 163-acre park conceptualized by Lakeland real estate broker David Bunch and former city Parks Director Bill Tinsley seven years ago, was developed with private funding from the Barnett family and hundreds of other donors.
First spoken of as “a catalyst for progressive community development” nearly seven years ago, Bonnet Springs Park will become the largest public park in Lakeland.
